Since his arrival, Ted has won two more Bronze Medals and accrued a fourth place finish at Junior Nationals.

He has other coaching experience as well, including assisting with UCSD’s NCAA Men’s Volleyball team, Junior College coaching in which he has won two Conference Titles and an appearance at the Final Four for JC Men’s VB, and finally high school experience coaching at Cathedral Catholic, winning three back to back CIF Championships, 2 League titles, and #1 county rankings for San Diego.

Ted has over 25 seasons of coaching under his belt, coaching numerous teams in some years. He has had the fortune to instruct a bevvy of players to college careers, championships, league titles, and even to just successful seasons full of growth.

Ted was introduced to the sport by his father, Ted Sr, playing high school volleyball at University of San Diego HS, winning two CIF titles as a player. He played at Seaside Volleyball Club and was coached by Matt Touchstone, Jeff Hall, Matt Wilkinson, and both Carrie and Darrell Dilmore. He then went on to play Division 1 volleyball at Ball State University as both a setter and libero where he studied Journalism.

Currently, Ted has made a commitment to go back to school and study to become a Sports Psychologist. He is fascinated with advancing players and coaches to be their best. An avid beach player, he has also moved to the beach to start training for next years pro beach season.

Volleyball is a family affair as his younger brother Bronson also was a player of Ted’s who has moved on to win CIF titles, Jr Club Medals, and was fortunate enough to play NCAA volleyball as well. Bronson has coached two seasons with COAST Boys VBC.
