Andy Kim was born and raised in the city of the Magic Kingdom Anaheim, CA. There he attended Garden Grove High School where he was the starting setter all four years. His decision to attend UC San Diego brought him to this beautiful area where he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.A in Mathematics. Although most of his time was spent in the lab, his passion for sports led him to continue training players in the Orange County and San Diego area.

At Coast his experience coaching helps teach at a wide range of levels from youth camps to junior national teams including assisting the 18-1s. One of his strengths is being able to communicate with the players by using modern language and analogies to explain the complexities of volleyball.
