COAST Volleyball Club warmly welcomes Chris Griebenow back for his 3rd year at the club. Chris has been coaching at COAST since 2015 alongside Ted Summers-Torres, and has been coaching volleyball since he was 14. His other high-level coaching experience includes helping at SCVC and coaching for the USC Men’s Club Volleyball Team while he attended El Camino, where he led the Warriors to the state championships.

Chris grew up in Manhattan Beach, playing primarily for SCVC under Bill Ferguson and earning a gold, silver, and bronze medal with. He attended Mira Costa High School, winning CIF and State titles in his senior year. He recently graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in History and a minor in Mathematics. During his time at UC San Diego he was the President and Captain of the Men’s Club Volleyball Team, and now coaches the team there. He also heads the Boys’ Beach program at Cathedral Catholic.

Aside from coaching, Chris works in the Sports Clubs department at UC San Diego, works as a substitute teacher, and is a private tutor for middle and high school students, specializing in math and science.
