Michael grew up in San Diego where he played soccer in his younger years and then eventually transitioned to volleyball. From the first time he touched a volleyball, his enthusiasm for the sport took off. He was a full time setter while playing in high school, being called up early on to join the varsity team.
Michael ended up studying at UCSD earning a degree in economics. He’s currently a full time accountant, but his true passion still centers in and around volleyball. He has a penchant for pushing and cultivating talent in players that have a desire to strive and learn. His philosophy is rather simple…most of the time players are much more capable than they are really aware of.
Michael is married to his wife Lori, and they have five children together. Three of his children currently play club soccer but are starting to develop an interest in volleyball.
