Davis Ransom has been a staple in the San Diego volleyball community since 1998.
Davis first moved to San Diego from Huntington Beach so he could attend San Diego State
University where he played club volleyball as a setter and opposite.
Davis has coached college, as well as many teams in club volleyball, and high school, all
at a high level. Davis sets his mind to making the best out of whichever group he is working
with. With the goal of simply trying to get teams to fulfill their highest potential, Davis has had
success in a number of ways as a coach.
Early on in his career he worked closely with Bonita Vista High when the team won the
“mythical” National Championship. Then he helped Santa Fe Christian to a State Title and took
La Jolla High to the CIF Finals 4 times and ultimately built Point Loma High up to the point
where they won the school’s first CIF Championship in school history.
In club, Davis’ teams have consistently qualified for Junior Nationals, where they have
made numerous deep runs in various divisions in the tournament, with a recent highlight being
winning a Bronze Medal with the Coast 18-2s.
Davis’ teams are known for their exceptional growth, tight-knit cohesion, and love for the
game of volleyball.
Davis is married to Emily Lunn, and he loves reading, learning, and he is currently
studying to become a Full-Stack Web Developer.
