Xia Wei

 


 

Xia Wei recently moved to San Diego from Oklahoma just 4 years ago and has already made a big impact in the volleyball community.
 

His volleyball experience ranges from playing in high school and at the  college level in the midwest. He started his coaching career in Oklahoma where he coached at the 16 and 17 age group level. At the same time he also  served as the assistant coach for the Redland Community College where he helped the team with a 24-17 record and a NJCAA Region II second place finish.
 

He began his San Diego coaching career at Epic Volleyball Club where he was the head coach for the 18-3 team during his first year. During his second year at Epic he helped take the 15-2 team to a 31st place finish in the Volleyball Festiva in Reno, NVl. He has also coached at Vulcan Volleyball club taking the 16-1 team to a 1st place finish in Cooper Division Regional finals in the SCVA tournaments. Last year he coached the 17-3 Elite team at Coast with a 19th place finish out of 49 teams at the volleyball festival in Phoenix.
 

In the high school scene, Xia Wei is currently the head coach for the J.V. team at La Jolla Country Day where he also assists with the Varsity team.

 

Xia Wei graduated from Oklahoma State University double majoring in Management Information Systems and International Business. He is recently happly married and enjoy playing soccer and volleyball during his free time. Oh, did he also speaks 6 different languages.
