Nicole McIntyre is entering her second year at Coast.
She started playing volleyball at the age of 7. She was a 4
year starter under Coach Peter Ogle, as well as being a
Tri-sport athlete at La Jolla Country Day School. Nicole
played 6 years of Club volleyball here at Coast. Nicole
then went on to play collegiately at the University of
Arizona under Coach David Rubio. She started as a defensive
specialist in the tough PAC-10 conference. She graduated
with a degree in Psychology and then moved back home to San
Diego.
Since her return Nicole has assisted Coach Ogle with the
Varsity program at La Jolla Country Day in 2003 and
currently. Nicole graduated with her MSW (Master in Social
Work) in 2006. Nicole and Coach Ogle have been partners for
the past two years at the Wave where they coached the 13-1
and 12-1 teams. In 2007 they coached their 13-1 team to a 3rd
place finish at JO’s.
For the past 9 years Nicole has been working with Severely
Emotionally Disturbed Children. She just transitioned to a
full-time position as a Medical Social Worker in the
Emergency Department at Rady Children’s Hospital. She is
currently logging hours toward becoming a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker.
In her spare time Nicole has competed in numerous half
marathon’s and has run the Rock-n-Roll Marathon in 2005 and
2008. She is currently training for the Breast Cancer 3Day,
which she walked in last year (60 Miles in 3 days). Nicole
enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and
family. We are so lucky to have Nicole here in the Coast
