Head Coach Melissa Maxwell

Melissa has been playing volleyball for 19 years, and coaching a broad range of ages for 11 years.

Melissa received a four year varsity letter in volleyball at South Tahoe High School, where she was chosen for First Team All League in 99 and Honorable Mention 98. She played club for traveling teams like Club South Tahoe and Gold Trail.

Melissa played volleyball at Mesa College,where she was recognized as an overall kill leader, ace leader and dig leader in 1999. She then transferred to SDSU where she received her BA in Psychology. She plans on attending graduate school to earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Melissa began coaching middle school volleyball at Rancho Santa Fe Middle School, where she spent 5 years working with 6th graders. Melissa has also coached different club teams ranging from an 18-1 team, to 5th grade Leap Frog Teams. Currently, she is running the entire volleyball program at San Diego Jewish Academy, where she led the Lady Lions' Varsity team to two league titles, two appearances at CIF Finals and State.

Her strong work ethic and love for volleyball elevate her teams to a new level while they learn the game, and about themselves in the process. Melissa has a passion for volleyball and enjoys working with kids of all ages. This is Melissa's fifth year coaching at Coast and really enjoys being a part of the Coast family.
