Head Coach Dianne & Joel DeNechochea

Dianne is currently ranked among the top 12 players on the AVP pro beach volleyball tour. The 6'4" power player attended the University of Tennessee where she was a two-time All-Conference Selection as well as earning Academic Athlete of the Year honors.  In October of 2007, she was inducted into the Lady Volunteer Hall of Fame.  After college, Dianne played 3 seasons indoor professionally in Switzerland, 1 in Belgium and 1 in Italy.  She began playing full-time on the AVP tour in 2001 capturing her first tournament win in the Santa Barbara Open and a Bronze medal finish in Brazil on the FIVB World Tour with Liz Masakayan.  Her second win came in 2009 in Coney Island, New York with Carrie Dodd.  This 2010 season, she and her partner, Brittany Hochevar, competed in the finals in Santa Barbara.  She has consistantly been ranked among the top 8 players on the AVP in hitting percentage and blocks throughout her career. 

Dianne brings her experience as a player along with her excitement for the game to her coaching of young players.  Dianne has coached many volleyball camps and clinic over the years and worked with young players indoor and on the beach.  She believes working with players on proper technique and expressing how important it is for them to always try their best and work hard.  That volleyball is a difficult sport which requires many, many repititions to learn and improve each skill.  Also, she believes in teaching the players to be patient and persistant in practice and competition.  Dianne believes strong practices and preparation give the players and the team as a whole much more confidence in competition.   

Dianne is married to Joel DeNecochea and they have 2 daughters, Avalon 10 and Devon 6.  She enjoys the excitement and challenges of being a parent and juggling professional beach volleyball with family life.
