Head Coach Debbie Isaiah

Debbie graduated from Southwest high School in ’91 where she played volleyball, basketball and softball while earning 1st team recognition for the Metro League. She went on to play volleyball and basketball at Southwestern Community College for 2 years. She then received a partial scholarship to play volleyball and basketball at Baker University in Baldwin City Kansas. It was in Kansas City that she began coaching volleyball for the Midwest Jr.’s in 1994.

Debbie received her B.A. in Physical Education from Baker University, with minors in coaching and art. She came back to her hometown of San Diego where she continued coaching at Valhalla, Eastlake, Southwest, Bonita Vista (2 Mesa League Championships), 3 years at Otay Ranch, and is currently in her fourth year of teaching and coaching both varsity girls and boys volleyball teams at Montgomery High School. She coached Otay Ranch Starlings 15’s and also coached for Bridge volleyball club for 5 years. She has had various players go on to play at the collegiate level. -
Debbie is a proud mother of 3 beautiful daughters – twins Imani and Iliana age 13, and Isabella 10. In her free time she enjoys listening to Imani play her ukulele while her sisters sing. She also enjoys watching 10 year old Isabella play basketball for her elementary school and volleyball for Coach Nick Fotius on her 14’s club team. -
Debbie says that volleyball is the best sport in the world.
