Head Coach Alex Placek
Born and raised in Del Mar, CA. I started learning tennis and beach
volleyball at the age of 5. I played varsity tennis and volleyball for
Torrey Pines High School. As a tennis player, I helped the team claim 3
CIF championships and won the individual CIF championship in doubles.
I played division II tennis at UCSD. As a sophomore, I finished the year ranked 14th nationally in doubles, and helped the team achieve a ranking as high as number 4 in the country. I majored in biology and graduated from UCSD with a 3.6 GPA. I am currently applying to medical school for the entering class of 2012. I am also training in beach volleyball and hope to compete in professional level tournaments next summer.
I have helped coach several top professional beach volleyball players, including my brother Mike, and have assisted in coaching both club and high school volleyball teams for the past three years.
